B’nai B’rith has enrolled 30,065 new members in the first six weeks of its current nationwide membership drive, according to a joint report issued today by Bernard Roman of Chicago, national chairman of the B’nai B’rith membership campaign cabinet, and Mrs. Leonard Sims of Detroit, national membership chairman for the B’nai B’rith Women’s Supreme Council.
This total, which includes some preliminary enrollments, was almost equally divided between men and women, the chairmen said. Long range goal of the organization is to expand its membership to a half million men, women and youth. According to the joint report of the membership chairmen, the greatest number of new members–both men and women–was obtained by District One, which includes New York City. The B’nai B’rith Women acquired 15,664 members during the campaign.
