A special investigating committee appointed by Premier David Ben Gurion to inquire into the activities of Arab gangs from nearby countries which operate in Israel has heard testimony that these gangs have the close cooperation of some Israeli Arabs, it was learned today. The committee, which began its hearings several weeks ago, has another two or three weeks of work before it reports to Mr. Ben Garion.
Thus far, the committee has heard testimony from a variety of Israelis, Jews and Arabs alike. Among those who testified were Interior Minister Israel Bar Yehuda, Development Minister Mordecai Bentov, Arab deputies in Parliament and other Arab representatives. The witnesses have given information of smuggling activities, thefts and several cases of murder of Israel citizens. The report, it is understood, will contain the names of some of the Israeli Arabs who cooperated and the specific times and places of such collaboration.
