LONDON (Jan. 15)
Joseph Mirkin, one of the pioneers of modern Zionism, who has been blind for many years, died here today shortly after falling out of a window. He was born in Kremenchug Russia, 82 years ago.
Mr. Mirking was one of two surviving delegates to the first World Zionist Congress–the other is Prof. Joseph Klausner of Jerusalem. Until the Russian Revolution, Mr. Mirkin served as deputy director of the Jewish Colonization Association in Russia. After the revolution, he played, an important role in the JCA in Paris. When the Nazis entered Paris, he fled to London where the JCA world headquarters was transferred from Paris.
