A plea for persons to report Jewish historical documents and papers in their possession was voiced here at the conference of the National Planning Committee of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, in connection with a project to gather and preserve the records of cultural and religious groups. The records would be used in documenting the impact of the Jewish community on American history.
The conference also heard that a study on “The Moral Dilemma in the Use of Mass Leisure Time” had been earmarked as a major project of the third year of the Seminary’s Spiritual Statesmanship Program. In announcing the study, Daniel G. Ross, national chairman, also made known that the program had been divided into three parts–a continuing conference of academicians, a national board of consultants and a pilot seminar for lay leaders. The first conference of academicians will be held in Boston, March 14-15.
