The annual observance of Jewish Youth Week started today throughout the country under the auspices of the National Jewish Welfare Board. The purpose of the Week is to focus attention on the role, achievements and potentialities of Jewish youth in the growth and development of a creative, democratic American Jewish Community.
The theme of this year’s Jewish Youth Week will be “Building a Bridge of Friendship between Jewish Youth of the United States and Israel.” Hundreds of thousands of teen-agers and young adults in Jewish Community Centers, YMHA’s, youth and young adult councils and other groups will participate in cultural festivals, field days, Jewish Youth Sabbaths, forums, institutes, rallies, dances, interfaith programs and other events.
