A fire which broke out at Beilinson Hospital at Petach Tikvah following the explosion of a tank of ether in the hospital’s medical storeroom today caused 250,000 pounds worth of damage. None of the patients or hospital personnel were injured, although a number of patients suffered from shock.

Firemen battled the blaze for hours this morning, finally isolating it and keeping it from reaching the main wards. The stores which were destroyed in the fire were being prepared to be moved into a new concrete storehouse. Beilinson Hospital is one of the hospitals supported by Kupat Holim, the Histadrut’s national network of hospitals and clinics.
