A Senate Judiciary subcommittee today approved the nomination of Simon E. Sobeloff as Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th District. Mr. Sobeloff, now Solicitor General, was nominated last year by President Eisenhower but Southern Senators last year succeeded in obstructing confirmation of the appointment.
The nomination now goes before the full Judicary Committee. In the vote taken by the subcommittee today three members voted for Mr. Sobeloff while two abstained.
