The magnificent welcome accorded King Feisal of Iraq as he arrived here today on a formal visit of state was not without its touch of irony.

A handsomely printed address of welcome was presented to the monarch by a delegation from the London County Council, headed by Council chairman Mrs. Norman Bentwich, a Jew and wife of the Anglo-Jewish leader Prof. Norman Bentwich. King Feisal does not permit British Jews–nor Jewish citizens of any other country–to visit his country or even to touch down in a plane en route to another country.
