Religious Jewry in Israel does not need to fear the Reform movement, Minister of Religion Moshe Shaptra declared today in a speech before the second national conference of the Poale Mizrachi Women Workers’ Association.
Mr. Shapira, a leader of the Religious bloc in the Government coalition, referred to current attempts to establish a Reform temple in Israel and said that the Reform movement had no footing in this country.
The cabinet member stressed that religious Jewry must give a hand to the important task of strengthening Israel and to the ingathering of the exiles. He said that Israel’s security was rapidly increasing and described the Army as strengthened and alerted.
“The day is near, “he declared, “when Israel’s enemies will have to think twice before attacking Israel.”
