The Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University–which has just marked the opening day of its second year of instruction received a $500,000 grant from the Ford Foundation today.
The college is the only medical school in the country to receive a Ford grant although it is not yet accredited as a teaching institution in the field of medicine. Accreditation cannot be granted by the medical profession until the first class is graduated. The first class, which started studies exactly a year ago, began its second twelvemonth series of studies this morning. The College was among 44 privately supported medical schools receiving total grants of $21,750,000 from the Ford Foundation today.
