Dr. Ivo Samkalden was appointed today Minister of Justice in the new Netherlands Cabinet, becoming the fourth Jew in the history of Holland to hold a Cabinet post. Two Jews were elected to the Dutch Senate: Dr. A. de Roos, a Socialist, and Dr. Bernard Polak, a Communist.
