Chief Justice Warren Receives First Louis D. Brandeis Gold Medal

Chief Justice Earl Warren of the United States Supreme Court has received the first of 20 gold medals struck for Brandeis University by the United States Mint, the university has announced. The medal, commemorating the centennial of the birth of the late Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, will also be struck in bronze in a run of 3,000 for distribution to faculty, alumni and friends of the university as mementos of the centennial celebrations.

(In Albany. Gov. Harriman today saluted the late Justice Brandeis, who was an associate justice for 23 years on the United States Supreme Court. The Governor fixed today as Brandeis Centennial Day in New York State.)
