Montreal Jewry, at a mass meeting here, called upon the Canadian Government to urge Egypt along with the other Arab states, to enter direct peace negotiations with Israel.

Principal speaker at the rally was Leon Crestohl, the only Jewish member of the Canadian House of Commons. Mr. Crestohl said that “Israelis did what every normal courageous human being would have done to save themselves from destruction by Egypt.” The meeting was held under the auspices of the United Zionist Council of Canada.
