Urging a public proclamation of “our sense of identification with the land and people of Israel,” Dr. Israel Brodie, Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth, today issued his annual letter to rabbis of the British Commonwealth asking them to schedule special synagogue services on Israel’s Independence Day May 6.

“At this time, when Israel is under attack from many quarters, it behooves us particularly to give expression of our gratitude to the Almighty for the miraculous rebirth of a Jewish State and publicly to proclaim our sense of identification,” the Chief Rabbi declared.
