Chairman Matthew M. Neely, West Virginia Democrat, of the Senate Committee on District of Columbia Affairs today introduced a bill exempting the national headquarters of B’nai B’rith here from real estate taxation.
The bill was co-sponsored by Senators J. Glenn Beall, Maryland, ranking Republican on the committee, and Jocob K. Javits, New York Republican. The Senators expressed hope that the bill will become law. B’nai B’rith headquarters are currently under construction here, and will be ready for occupancy in the fall.
