Trade between the United States and Israel totalled $171,000,000 in 1956, according to a report released today by the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce. Advances over the preceding year were recorded in the export and import trade, in shipping and insurance, and in travel and tourism.

Based on official data and estimates, the study covered all aspects of financial, economic and business activities between the United States and Israel, the report said. It revealed that Israel obtained over 30 percent of all its foreign income from America. At the same time Israel spent over 30 percent of its foreign expenditures in the United States.
