Lord Russell, War Crimes Prosecutor, to Address Z. O. A. Convention

Lord Russell of Liverpool who resigned his post as Deputy Judge Advocate General after he refused a British Government demand the he suppress his book, “The Scourge of the Swastika,” will make his first visit to the United States next month to address the 60th anniversary convention of the Zionist Organization of America.

Lord Russell was legal advisor to the British commander-in-chief in Germany from 1948 to 1951, during the trials by British military courts of Nazi war criminals. He resigned as Government Whip in the House of Lords last year in protest against the British Government decision to evacuate the Suez Canal zone without assurance of free and innocent passage for Israel ships.

He will be accompanied here by Lady Russell who directed the documentary film. “Israel, Land of Promise,” in 1956.
