Top Turkish officials, in recent talks with American diplomats, have stressed the importance of Israel as a stabilizing factor and a military power in the Middle East, according to reports received here today. Loy Henderson, State Department official, visited Turkey recently during his Middle East tour to consult with various governments on Syria’s lurch to the left.
Turkish officials have recently made several gestures designed to underline Ankara’s friendship for the Jewish State. However, the Turkish Government is not yet ready to return to Jerusalem the Minister who was recalled when Israel opened its Sinai operation.
