With more than 100,000 Israelis stricken thus far by the epidemic of Asian influenza in this country, health authorities warned today that a second, heavier wave of the “flu” may be expected. So far, there have been five fatalities attributed to Asian influenza.

The Council of Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox rabbis today called on all Jews in this country to recite special prayers all this week at morning services, invoking divine intercession against the epidemic.
