The situation on Israel’s borders is more peaceful now than at any time since the establishment of the State, Gen. Moshe Dayah, Israel Army Chief of Staff, told a television interviewer last night on his arrival here.

Asked if he thought the situation might deteriorate. Gen. Dayan replied “there is no reason why it should.” He was scheduled to address a dinner tonight for the Haifa Technion.
