The Jewish Colonization Association announced today that at the annual meeting of its Council last night a large appropriation for settlement work in Israel was voted. The amount involved was not revealed. Sir Henry d’Avigdor Goldsmid was re-elected president.

The JCA council decided to build a new JCA colony in the Northern Negev, in cooperation with the Jewish Agency. Sdeh Moshe, the Association’s newest settlement, will be completed this year in the Lachish area southwest of Jerusalem. Other activities decided upon include the expansion of existing JCA colonies, setting up the children of older settlers in JCA-sponsored communities on farms of their own and advancing loans to assist cooperative enterprises in JCA settlements.
