France and Israel to Sign Cultural Pact; Covers Scientific Cooperation

A cultural agreement between France and Israel has reached the final stages of negotiation and is due to be signed late this month, Dr. Shaul Lewin, cultural counsellor to the Israel Embassy in Paris, revealed today.

Dr. Lewin said that the pact, the first of its kind between the two nations, will cover scientific and cultural cooperation. They will exchange information pertaining to nuclear research, among other fields.

(In Tel Aviv, it was announced that Koor, the Histadrut industrial complex, has signed an agreement with an unnamed French company to set up an electrical appliance factory in Israel. The announcement was made by Aaron Remeze, Koor managing director, upon his return from France.)
