A new Hebrew broadcast by Radio Cairo again invited Israel to join the United Arab Republic as the only permanent solution for the peace of the Middle East. Israel will maintain its national independence under the union, the announcer said, and the entire region will prosper as a result of the final eradication of the Israel-Arab dispute.

In an interview with Look magazine recently, Premier David Ben Gurion indicated that Israel would be willing to investigate an earlier radio invitation to join the UAR. However, he expressed the view that the offer was merely propaganda.
