Maxwell Rabb Quits Post As Secretary of the Eisenhower Cabinet

Maxwell Rabb, a Jewish attorney who has served on the White House staff since the start of the Eisenhower Administration, has resigned, it was announced this week-end. He will leave his post as Secretary of the Cabinet, effective in mid-May.

President Eisenhower accepted his resignation with “deep regret.” The 47-year-old Bostonian will join the New York law firm of Stroock and Laban as a partner. He identified himself with various Jewish causes during his service as Secretary of the Cabinet.
