Canadian People Impressed with Israel’s Progress, Bronfman Reports

The celebration of Israel’s tenth anniversary In Canada has made “a lasting impact on the people of Canada by calling attention to the fact that Israel is the focal point of democracy not only in the Middle East but also in the world, ” Allan Bronfman, national chairman of the Canadian Committee for Israel’s tenth anniversary celebration, declared at a press conference here today.

The Canadian Jewish leader said that “Canada admires the progress achieved by the Israelis during the first decade in the face of tremendous odds. ” He reported that of a little more than 300 members of Canada’s rational committee for Israel’s Tenth Anniversary celebration, nearly half were non-Jews, including eight of the ten provincial premiers in Canada, the mayors of Canada’s 19 largest cities, the leading members of Canada’s Cabinet and Supreme Court and religious leaders of all faiths.
