The Gerald L.K. Smith anti-Semitic organization is making national distribution of a statement by the so-called “National Committee for Religious Freedom in Israel” which denounces the Israel Government. The “religious freedom” group is made up of Orthodox extremists including members of the Neturei Karta.
Smith’s anti-Semitic front “The Christian Nationalist Crusade” has reprinted verbatim the text of a paid advertisement inserted recently in the New York Times by the Jewish extremists. Smith has sent this text to members of Congress, clergymen, and others. The advertisement contained a sweeping denunciation of the Israel Government for permitting a Jerusalem swimming pool, alleged desecration of Holy Places and graves, imprisonment of rabbis, and other alleged anti-religious acts.
The comment of Smith on the denunciation of Israel by Jews was that “occasionally the cat jumps out of the bag.” The attack on Israel was quoted with a comment that it would prove “quite revealing” to non-Jews. Smith was charged with pro-Nazi sedition during World War II.
