Canada Names Bay for Pioneer Homesteader, Jewish Leader

Canada’s Department of Natural Resources has named a bay one and a half miles long for Nathan Friedman, a Saskatchewan pioneer and active member of the Regina Jewish community.

Mr. Friedman, who is retired from business but remains active within the Jewish community, was honored for his contribution to the development of this province. He began homesteading in 1907, later became a merchant, rancher and hotel operator. Nathan Friedman Bay is located in Northern Saskatchewan.
