The arrest by Greek authorities of a Nazi official responsible for war crimes against Greek Jews and non-Jews during the German occupation of Greece, was discussed here today by Greek Foreign Minister Paul Aver off and Bonn officials. The Foreign Minister is currently visiting West Germany.

The former Nazi official, Dr. Max Merten, was arrested 18 months ago while vacationing in Greece. A Berlin attorney after the war, Merten was an administrative official in wartime Salonika. He was charged with having helped deport Greek Jews to their death, responsibility for the murder of Greek hostages and the sale of counterfeit notes to Jews in exchange for gold currency.
