Internationally the position of the State of Israel is strong “because of the unfailing support of the United States,” Gov. William G. Stratton of Illinois declared here tonight at a testimonial dinner in his honor tendered by the Jewish communities of the state on behalf of the Israel bond campaign. The Governor predicted that Washington would continue its support.

After reviewing Israel’s progress in agriculture, industry, and the development of a democratic society, Gov. Stratton declared: “Based on experience and support, we can expect future greatness for the State of Israel.” He paid tribute to Americans who, through the bond campaign and other means, had extended a helping hand to the people of the Jewish State.
