Israeli newsmen partially lifted their boycott today of the reporting of Parliamentary sessions. Meanwhile, their representatives met with members of the Knesset House Committee to negotiate for removal of restrictive regulations against which the newsmen are protesting.
Among the restrictions which newsmen found objectionable–and which they assert will interfere with the performance of their news gathering function–is a ban on newsmen using the Knesset restaurant, lounges, buffets and corridors. Newsmen also demand removal of a bullet-proof glass partition between the House floor and the press galleries.
