A proposed state law providing penalties ranging from 20 to 50 years’ imprisonment for “malicious” damage by explosives to churches synagogues or cemeteries was passed by the Senate last night, and has been forwarded to the State Assembly.

Under the draft measure, the 50-year prison sentence could be given for such bombings that endanger human life. In cases where no human lives were endangered, the maximum penalty would be 20 years’ imprisonment.
