Max Bressler, Chicago Jewish Leader, Gets United Hias Anniversary Award

Max Bressler, American Zionist leader, was presented last night with the 75th Anniversary Award of the International United Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society as “the immigrant who best symbolizes the opportunities the United States offers immigrants to become valuable citizens of this country.” The presentation was made at a dinner here honoring Mr. Bressler.

Philip M. Klutznick, American Jewish leader, and Carlos I. Israels, international president of United HIAS, addressed the dinner which was attended by more than 1, 200 persons. Representatives of organizations with which Mr. Bressler has been actively identified during his 38 years in this country, presented him with citations lauding his “outstanding service to the community.” An earlier recipient of the HIAS award was David Sarnoff of the Radio Corporation of America.
