The Ontario Government is no longer interested in the racial origin of persons applying for a marriage license.

Provincial Secretary Phillips introduced in the Legislature an amendment to the Marriages Act to delete from the marriage license application form a section asking for the applicants’ racial origin. “It serves no useful purpose from the standpoint of statistical purposes.” Dr. Phillips told the house.
