Abe Kasle, Detroit Jewish Leader, Donates $65,000 on His 65th Birthday

Abe Kasle, prominent Jewish community leader here, who reached his 65th birthday two weeks ago, announced today that he has made special gifts totaling $65,000 to a number of Jewish and non-Jewish organizations, most of them educational institutions, in this country and in Israel.

The two biggest gifts, $20,000 each, have been given to Wayne State University, here, and to Midrasha, the College of Jewish Studies of the United Hebrew Schools. Mr. Kasle also allocated the following gifts:

To the Negro College Fund, $7,500; Jewish National Fund, $5,000; Jewish Theological Seminary, $2,500; Boys Clubs of Michigan, $2,500; University of Detroit, $2,000; Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovot Israel, $2,000; Bar-Han University, Ramat Gan, Israel, $1,000; Yeshivath Beth Yehudahi, $1,000; Yeshivath Chachmey Lublin, $750; and Hillel Day School, $750.
