The spirit of the martyrs who participated in the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto uprising against the Nazis “lives today in Israel,” Sir Leslie Plummer, Labor member of Parliament, told an assemblage of 1,200 persons who, last night, held commemorative services here, honoring the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto as well as the memories of the 4,000,000 Jews who perished under the Nazi regime.
“There can be no better memorial for the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto,” said Sir Leslie, “than the State of Israel.” The services had been organized by the Polish-Jewish Ex-Servicemen’s Association in conjunction with the British section of the World Jewish Congress and the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women of Great Britain.
