Yaacov Herzog, Israel’s new Ambassador to Canada, presented his credentials yesterday to Governor General George P. Vanier. The Israel envoy and his party arrived at the Governor General’s residence in a horse-drawn carriage escorted by an honor guard of Canadian mounted police.

During the colorful ceremonies here. Ambassador Herzog declared; “Israel reborn is the fulfilment of the immortal prophecy. Thel land and the people, now reunited after a separation of close to 2, 000 years, have enjoyed a continuity of tradition from the dawn of history.” In his reply to the Ambassador, Governor General Vanier lauded Canadian-Israel friendship. Ambassador Herzog also met with Premier John G. Diefenbaker.
