Israel Police Commander Avraham Selinger has been denied permission to visit a number of East European countries in connection with his search for evidence against Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi officer who directed the extermination of 6, 000, 000 Jews in Europe.
Commander Selinger, who heads the Israel police unit charged with investigating Eichmann’s war crimes, returned here today from visits to France, England and the Netherlands where he said he found “valuable material, ” mostly original documents relating to Eichmann’s role in the mass killing of European Jewry,
The Israel police official revealed that he had asked for permission to visit several countries in East Europe, but could not obtain the necessary visas. He did not specify which East European countries he sought to enter.
Commander Selinger said that during his stay in Holland, a hotel at which he stayed was threatened with bombing.
