Education officials of North York Township were studying a proposal today to change school classes so that religious education will be held during the last hour of the school day.
The proposal was offered by a group of Jewish and non-Jewish parents who do not wish their children to attend such classes. The meeting of the parents with the school officials was arranged by the Central Region Joint Public Relations Committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress and B’nai B’rith, which noted that such an arrangement is already in effect in two schools in the area.
