Israel’s exports during July were 25 percent higher than July 1959, it was reported here today. A total of $13,400,000 worth of goods were exported by Israel last month as compared with $10,700,000 in exports in July 1959. The July figure brought to $134,000,000, the total goods exported by Israel for the first seven months of this year, as compared with $113,000,000 for the first seven months of 1959.
The July increase was particularly significant since the summer is usually an off season for Israel’s leading export — citrus fruit. During the seven-month period citrus exports accounted for an increase of only $800,000 — from $40,600,000 to $41,400,000.
