Trustees of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies and the Combined Jewish Appeal of Greater Boston have announced approval of a plan to merge the agencies into a single organization.

Before the merger goes into effect, it must be approved by the enactment of enabling legislation, then by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial court, and finally by the memberships of the two agencies. Completion of formalities will provide Boston Jewry with a single agency to carry out community planning, fund-raising and fund-allocation.
