Dr. William Haber, professor of economics at the University of Michigan, has been re-elected president of the Central Board of the World ORT Union.

Other world ORT officers elected included Daniel Mayer, chairman of the executive committee, and the following vice-presidents: Armand Brunsevig for Switzerland; Julius Hochman for the United States; Mrs. L. Kaphan for Italy; Abel Shaban for South Africa; J. J. Shapiro for Israel. Max A. Braude was again named director-general of the World ORT Union.

The four-day Congress ended with a session of the Women’s ORT organization, attended by 74 delegates from ORT women’s groups in 13 countries.

The conference noted the growth of women’s ORT groups in the United States, Canada, Britain, Israel and France, and adopted a series of new projects as special responsibilities of the women’s units. These included a new ORT school in Marseilles, and an expansion of the ORT program in Teheran.
