Four Jewish writers–two Americans, an Israeli and an Australian–today were awarded the annual Zvi Kessel Literary Prizes for out-standing contributions to Jewish literature in 1960.
The four are: Dr. H.Shoshkes and I. Elmot, of New York; Herz Bergner, of Australia; and I. H. Biletzky, of Israel. All the works except Mr. Biletzky’s are in Yiddish; the latter’s book is in Hebrew.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
