TEL AVIV (Jan. 5)
Sixty-one Jewish children from Mexico were present at ceremonies in Acre today, marking the adoption of the Acre Committee for Soldiers Welfare by a sister committee in Mexico. The youngsters also attended inauguration rites for a soldiers’ recreation center sponsored by the Mexican soldiers welfare group.
Present at both ceremonies were Mayor Gadish of Acre, Army commanders, heads of the National Committee for Soldiers Welfare, and Jacobo Shapiro, head of the Mexican committee. Israeli girl soldiers presented each of the Mexican youngsters with an emblem of Acre in token of their devotion to the welfare of Israeli service personnel.
