8,500 Jews in Baden-wurtemberg Killed by the Nazis; 21,500 Emigrated

A preliminary statistical report released today disclosed that of the 31,000 Jews who lived in Baden-Wurtemberg in 1933, when Hitler came to power, more than 8,500 were murdered by the Nazis.

The report, prepared by the Relief Committee for Racial Persecutees, also indicated that about 21,500 were able to emigrate in time and that 701 returned after the war.
