Applicants from Many States Seek Scholarships for Jewish Studies

Applications for scholarships and fellowships have been received from 17 States, Canada and three foreign countries, from students completing doctoral programs and Master’s degrees in the field of Jewish studies as well as scholars planning research projects, it was reported by Professor Nathan Reich at the meeting of the Council of Jewish Cultural Agencies held here.

Applications will be received until April 15th for consideration by the National Foundation for Jewish Culture for the next academic year. The Council also heard reports on plans for developing Jewish communal archives by the secretary of the Foundation, Dr. Judah J. Shapiro, and a report on plans for a publication program from Dr. Solomon Grayzel, chairman of the publications committee of the Council. The Council of Jewish Cultural Agencies is the advisory body of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture.
