Israel’s success in reviving the Hebrew language, and bringing it back to the status of a living tongue, was praised highly here today by the Moroccan National Radio.
The Moroccan official praise for Israel’s linguistic achievements was broadcast in spite of the fact that the Moroccan Government not only follows the usual Arab policies in regard to Israel, but has even banned all postal contact between Jews here and their relatives in Israel.
Referring to the recent Congress on Arabization, held at Rabat, devoted to efforts to increase knowledge of Arabic, the radio declared: “It is no shame for us to learn from Israel. We may take a lesson in this sphere from Israel because she has succeeded in making Hebrew the official language in record time.”
