Adolf Eichmann was found guilty yesterday of crimes against Jews and crimes against humanity, and sentenced to death–at a mock trial held by university students at Belo Horizonte, capital of the State of Minas Gerais. Alberto Pontes, deputy attorney general of the State, acted as “prosecutor” in the simulated trial.

(In Buenos Aires, two leading Argentine jurists declared on a television program their support for Israel’s action in trying Eichmann. Dr. Jose Peco, author of the Argentine penal code, said the Eichmann trial was a necessity. Dr. Lima Quintana, fervent opponent of capital punishment, said Eichmann deserved the death penalty for the “monstrosity” of his crimes.)
