Jacobo Schaulsohn, the only Jewish member in the Chilean Parliament, was today chosen as provisional president of the lower house by the newly elected deputies.
Mr. Schaulsohn, who is a member of the Radical Party, will probably be elected president of the chamber when the new house convenes next week. The Jewish legislator, who represents Santiago, was re-elected to Parliament by a large majority in the recent elections.
