A new Norwegian ORT Committee has been established here, including in its membership former United Nations Secretary-General Trygve Lie and other leading Norwegian statesmen and lay leaders.

Only two of Norway’s 1, 000 Jews are members of the 15-man committee, which is headed by the Bishop of Trondheim, a hero of the Norwegian resistance movement during the Second World War. The bishop saved many Jews during the Nazi occupation of this country.
