BUENOS AIRES (Jul. 10)
Representatives from four Latin American countries-Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile–meeting here in a two-day conference on Jewish education, sought establishment of a central organ for the development of Jewish cultural and educational work, based on local efforts in the four countries.
Zalman Shazar, head of the Jewish Agency’s cultural and education department in Jerusalem, reported to the conference that he had established a new, central executive for the integration of fund-raising for overseas needs and for the development of new activities in Brazil and Uruguay.
The conference here was scheduled to consider, among other plans, the integration of Jewish adult education courses, as well as the establishment of refresher courses for teachers.
